Then at 5:45 head to the gym for the PTA General Meeting (PTA meeting agenda) and a chance to hear from Ms. Zezza. At 6:15 pm there will be a second session in the classrooms (same information shared by teachers as the first session – no need to attend both). Look forward to seeing you all there!

JYJ Jamboree Oct. 18th – Volunteers Needed
We need many helpers to make the annual Jamboree a success. Volunteering at the event is always a blast, so click to sign up on MemberHub and be a part of the action. Positions are available for both youth and adult volunteers. Pick one shift and then relax for the rest of the event. We are also seeking a few Joyner alums (middle and high schoolers!) to help out in the Haunted Hallway! To volunteer for the Hallway, contact Kenya Reynard directly at email@example.com or (919)491-0120. Thanks in advance for your support!
Sports with Coach Scott
Sports After School with Coach Scott is back again this year for Joyner families. Open for students K-5 and is held on Tuesdays immediately after school playing a variety of sports, fun games and activities that emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork and fun for all! The program runs for 4 consecutive weeks and cost is $60. The first session will kick off as soon as Kiwanis Park is completed and there are currently 4-5 spots available. Coach Scott picks up children from the walker hallway and escorts them directly down to Kiwanis to play. Pick up time is 4:30 at Kiwanis parking lot and for those in Joyner after school program, he walks the students back up to school. Contact Coach Scott with questions and to register.

Support Joyner’s BackPack Buddies Program – BackPack Buddies provides weekend meals for kids who might not otherwise have enough food at home over the weekend. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle delivers non-perishable food to our school, which is packed into bags by our volunteers and distributed discreetly to the kids on Fridays. It costs $365 per child to send home an assortment of food each and every weekend. Consider donating (any amount) towards Joyner’s Backpack Buddies program this year! Your gift is tax-deductible and you’ll receive a donation letter from Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Checks may also be sent to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (1001 Blair Drive, Raleigh NC 27603) with JYJ BackPack Buddies in the subject line. Our program is solely funded through donations like yours and the funds need to be raised up front to determine how many children may participate in the program. Consider a donation today. Interested in volunteering with our BackPack Buddies team? Email Marisa Bryant for more information. Thank you for your support!
